Rahul Gandhi will begin his Manipur to Mumbai Bharat Nyaya Yatra on January 14.

Jairam Ramesh, Congress leader, said the Bharat Yatra would focus on social, economic and political justice, covering 14 states.

The announcement was made by Congress leader KC Venugopal on Wednesday, days after Gandhi had promised to do what the party asked him to when the Congress Working Committee (CWC), on December 21, urged him on to take out another yatra.

Gandhi completed the largest foot march in India last year - Bharat Jodo Yatra - covering 4500 km across 150 days, from Kanyakumari up to Kashmir.

"....Bharat Niaya Yatra...will conclude on March 20...this yatra will enthuse youth, women and all marginalised persons," Venugopal stated.

Venugopal stated that Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress chief will launch the yatra at Imphal on 14th January. Jairam Ramesh, a Congress leader, said the Bharat Nyay Yatra would focus on economic, political, and social justice, and will cover Manipur and Nagaland as well as Assam, Meghalaya and West Bengal. It also covers Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

Venugopal stated that the yatra would cover 14 states, and 85 districts. He said Manipur was an important part of the Northeast, and that they wanted to heal the wounds in the state. Since May, ethnic violence left more than 175 dead and thousands displaced. This is not a yatra. Venugopal said, "We are going to bring up the issues of common people."

The yatra will galvanize grassroots workers of the Congress ahead of the national election. Venugopal insisted that it wouldn't affect poll preparations. "We will have separate mechanisms [for elections]."

'At this stage, Virat doesn't need lot of practice': India coach Rathour's intriguing remark after Kohli's 38 vs SA

Team India returned to action after the ODI series in the Tests against South Africa. With it, India's two batting stalwarts - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli - also made their first appearance since the 2023 World Cup final last month. It wasn't quite the start India expected on the opening day of the first Test, as the side was initially left reeling at 24/3 - and then 92/4 - as Rohit and Kohli faltered relatively cheaply. The Indian skipper was the first to be dismissed on 5, while Kohli showed composure and looked like getting a big score before a scorcher from Kagiso Rabada led to his dismissal on 38.

Virat Kohli entered the Centurion Test with just one substantial net session on Christmas Eve. Still, India's batting coach Vikram Rathour emphasized that, given his career stage, the former captain doesn't require extensive training. Kohli opted out of the sole three-day intra-squad practice game at Tuks Oval in Pretoria and had obtained prior permission to spend a short four-day break with his family in the UK.

"The stage of his career Virat (Kohli) is, I don't think he needs a lot of practice," Rathour said after the end of opening day's play of the first Test against South Africa on Tuesday.

"He bats a lot and trains a lot. So, if he practiced a few days less, doesn't matter much. We saw, how well he was playing. It didn't seem he was away from red ball cricket for six months. It's a good sign," the former India opener said.

Kohli arrives in South Africa after a solid World Cup performance where he not only broke the record for most runs in a single edition, but also smashed a world record 50th ODI century during the semi-final against New Zealand.

Rahul produced a grace-saving knock on Day 1 as he remained unbeaten on 70, propelling India past the 200-run mark. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter showed solid composure as he battled against the Proteas pacers and Rathor stated that the 31-year-old India batter handles pressure well.

"Rahul is turning out to be man of crisis for us. Every time, there are tough situations, he is the guy who handles it well for us. Nothing special, he was clear with his game plans, defended the right balls, attacked the right ones," Rathour said.

NASA's 'celestial Christmas gift': A picture of the'sparkling Snow Globe' galaxy

NASA unwrapped a celestial present just in time for Christmas - a picture of galaxy UGC 891, which resembles a dazzling snow globe. This galaxy is located 7 million light years away in the Virgo star constellation and adds a bit of cosmic festivity.

UGC 8091 is a galaxy with a scattershot, irregular shape, unlike the familiar spiral and elliptical shapes. It belongs to the category of irregular galaxy, which makes up about a quarter observed galaxies. It is due to tumultuous events such as collisions and interactions that the galaxy lacks a clearly defined structure.

UGC 8091, a dwarf galaxy that is significantly smaller than the Milky Way and other giant galaxies, is more than just an irregular galaxy. Hubble's Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) and Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) are used to study these dwarf galaxies in order to better understand their role during the early days of the universe.

After the Big Bang, dwarf galaxies such as UGC 8091 played an important role. Astronomers think they played a role in reheating the hydrogen during the expansion of our universe. This festive image is a glimpse into the history of cosmic evolution penned down by these ancient celestial beings.

This image was created using data collected from 2006-2021 with various light filters. The red patches represent excited hydrogen molecules within newly formed stars. Other lights are older stars. The effect is similar to capturing the sparkling tangles of string lights in cosmic darkness.

UGC 8091 is home to a billion stars that all contribute to the stunning visual spectacle.

Hubble's observations are designed to reveal the composition of dwarf galaxies and their evolutionary relationship to more modern galaxies. This cosmic exploration helps to understand the complex interplay of ancient and modern galactic entities.
